The Appointment of Reni Wulandari as the Director of Production for PT Semen Gresik

Rembang, 13 Juni 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) announced new directors as per result of the General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS). Reni Wulandari was appointed as the Director of Production, taking over from Soni Asrul Sani, who has been entrusted as the Director of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI) under the SIG Group or Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk since February 2022. Wulandari was the General Manager of SBI for Narogong Plant in West Java before she was reassigned to PTSG.

Serving as the Director of Production in the cement industry, with one of the biggest market shares in Indonesia, emerges as a personal challenge for Reni. Moreover, amid the intense competition in the cement industry, the mandated mission to drive PTSG as the leading and trustworthy company in the business and the operational process becomes demanding.

"Nowadays, cement industries encounter a challenge in the form of the demand for eco-friendly products and factory optimization through manufacturing excellence, including innovations that optimize Alternative Fuel Raw Material (AFR) usage to replace the raw material and main fuel, as well as innovation in the digitization of the industry," said Wulandari in a press release on Monday (13/6).

Nevertheless, Wulandari continued, her team is highly optimistic that PTSG will be capable of handling the market demand, including the future global cement industry trend, as they possess the innovation concepts, technological superiority, as well as the environmentally and sustainability-based operations to fulfill the demand for green-labeled cement.

Wulandari has been an expert and a professional in the cement industry for 25 years. She has a wide track record in technical and production management since 1997. This graduate from Chemical Engineering of Diponegoro University and Business Administration of Swiss German University spent half of her career in the previous company occupying positions related to alternative fuel and raw material utilization. Further, she was trusted to occupy a position in connection with the management of the cement factory for the other half.

In the field of alternative fuel and raw material, Wulandari served as the Country Manager of the Alternative Fuel & Raw Material Business Unit for PT Holcim Indonesia TBK (currently known as SBI). During that period, Wulandari was responsible for the development of new businesses as the company introduced alternative fuels and raw material utilization in the cement production process; thus, it successfully substituted at least 15% of traditional energy usage, which led to becoming one of the biggest AFR business unit within the Group.

In the Cement Factory Management sector, from 2018 to 2020, Wulandari was appointed as the General Manager of SBI's Tuban Plant in East Java, and, from 2020 up until her new assignment in PTSG, she was assigned as the General Manager of SBI's Narogong Plant in West Java.

The appointment of Wulandari as the Production Director of PTSG becomes visible evidence of shareholders' commitment to upholding gender equality and women empowerment in an industry, which has been dominated by a specific gender so far, as well as the realization of one of the pillars of Sustainable Development Goals.
